I remember the Highway in the 1960s and 70s and the only houses around Narre Warren were three weatherboard ones - on the left going towards Melbourne, east of Webb Street - long, low ranch style houses. High Street in Berwick. Driving from the ...Ah, Yes! High Street in Berwick. Driving from the east in 1973 we looked forward to it sooo much, as it was the start of the double lanes. All the rest, except the Morwell Bypss, was single lanes with an occasional overtaking lane.
